Westmount

The City of Westmount is proud to be a vibrant, independent, primarily residential community that, since its founding in 1874, continues to offer a quality of life which reflects the values, hopes and aspirations of its residents. It was the first Canadian city to obtain a coat of arms on May 12, 1945. The city sits on the western slopes of Mount Royal with numerous parks, a vibrant community center with art galleries, library, a recently renewed recreation center, private and public schools as well as 2 CEGEPs. It’s landmark Westmount Park covers 26 acres with a wading pool, extensive playground, beautiful floral plantings, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and clay and hard-surface tennis courts. A serpentine waterway flows gently beneath aged willows and past shady benches. With so much to offer, it is a beautiful place for all age groups.
