Kirkland

The Town of Kirkand was established as a municipal corporation in March 1961. It owes its name to Dr. Charles-Aimé Kirkland, Liberal MP for Jacques-Cartier riding from 1939 until his death in 1961. Kirkland is a young and dynamic municipality with industrial, commercial and institutional establishments that serve its community well. It offers quality parks, municipal facilities , tree-lined residential areas, as well as many green spaces. The growth of the city has been enriched by the arrival of many newcomers from all walks of life. Today it is made up of citizens from 44 different nationalities speaking more than 31 languages.
